Good preparation starts long before you submit a visa application. Organising your documents early gives you time to fix gaps, request certificates and make sure every detail is consistent.
1. Check your passport
Make sure your passport is valid for the period your destination requires and that your name matches across all your documents.
2. Collect academic records
Gather mark sheets, certificates and transcripts. If anything is missing, request it from your school, board or university early — it can take weeks.
3. Plan your English test
Find out which tests and scores your institution and visa accept, then book your IELTS or PTE with enough time to retake it if needed.
4. Organise your finances
Most destinations ask you to show funds for tuition and living costs. Understand how the funds must be shown and for how long, and keep your bank records clear and consistent.
5. Write a genuine statement of purpose
Explain your academic background, your course choice and your plans honestly and clearly. Avoid copying templates.
